Nicki has a sad but amazing summer. Her mom is in a service dog training organization which means that Nicki’s mom trains dogs to work with people with special needs. Over the summer Nicki’s mom can’t work with the dog that comes so Nicki has a rough, busy, but fun summer. Nicki meets someone new and Nicki doesn’t think that the new friendship she makes will work that well when school starts. Nicki falls in love with something and she does not know how much longer time there will be with her love and the best friend she’s ever had. The characters are Sprocket, (Joyful, happy, loving, Nicki’s best friend, and cuddly) Nicki, (Can make lots of friends, calm, serious about things) Nicki’s mom, (Encouraging, helpful, loving, friendly, she is a good mom to Nicki in my opinion) Nicki’s dad, (Just like what I said about her mom) Nicki’s brother, (Annoying in my opinion, that’s pretty much about him) Kris (Nice, kind, friendly all of these about Kris were my opinions) Becca (Nice, kind of mean, friendly those are all my opinions, too) Mr. Thomas (Nicki’s teacher) (Kind, nice, helpful, friendly, and caring) Laura (Nice, kind, friendly). That is all the characters there are throughout the book. The settings are school, Nicki’s house, hospital, in the country, Laura’s house, Kris’s house. That is mostly the important settings. I liked the book a whole lot. People should read it because it’s really good. This book would probably be the best book I’ve ever read. If you like fiction or story’s about animals with their humans and so many different things can happen this is probably a book for you but probably not for a boy to read it’s kind of a girly book but it’s a really good book.
